(OTCQB: DISK) is proud to announce the release of “The American Dream,” (formerly “Make A Movie Like Spike”) an intense and emotionally gripping narrative film that received multiple awards on the 2011 film festival circuit.  Directed and written by J. Smith, the film stars Malcolm Goodwin (A&E’s “Breakout Kings”) and Jamil Walker Smith (“Stargate Universe”). “The American Dream” poignantly portrays the yearning wanderlust that accompanies coming-of-age young men who imagine a brighter future than they see possible in their own backyards.  It also provides a contemporary context for the commitments American military personnel make in an effort to serve their country—no matter how far from home it may take them.  “The American Dream” will be released on DVD, VOD and digital download on July 3, 2012. The DVD will have an SRP of $14.98.

 

Luis and Ronald (Jamil Walker Smith and Malcolm Goodwin), best friends and newly-enlisted Marines, have ambitions and goals that extend beyond the horizon of the block they grew up on.  Before shipping off to Afghanistan, the young men capture their few remaining days at home using a movie camera.  This footage chronicles the loved ones these young soldiers will be leaving behind as they embark on a life-changing journey in a far-away place.  Compelling, deeply moving, often hilarious, and powerful, “The American Dream” reveals the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship that accompany these two men as they pursue their destinies.
