Silver Spring, MD — Garnering more than two dozen Gemini® nominations, Murdoch Mysteries debuts Season 7 on Blu-ray and DVD on October 14, 2014 from Acorn, an RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand. Deftly written with plenty of period charm, this critically acclaimed mystery series centers on the brilliant detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye), a pioneer of crime-solving technologies in Victorian Toronto. Based on novels by Maureen Jennings, the series co-stars Gemini® winner Hélène Joy (Durham County), Thomas Craig (Where the Heart Is), Jonny Harris (Hatching, Matching & Dispatching), and Georgina Reilly (The L.A. Complex) with guest stars Peter Keleghan (The Red Green Show) and The Republic of Doyle’s Allan Hawco. Already renewed for an eighth season, Murdoch Mysteries airs on the CBC in Canada and recently began airing in the U.S. as The Artful Detective on Ovation. Season 7 made its U.S. premiere on Acorn.TV, RLJ Entertainment’s digital subscription channel and the first British TV focused streaming service in June 2014. This DVD 5-disc set features 18 episodes along with nearly two hours of Making Murdoch featurettes ($59.99, AcornOnline.com)

This award-winning Canadian mystery follows Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) as he solves the most perplexing mysteries of Edwardian-era Toronto with scientific insight and revolutionary techniques. Aided by his eager deputy Constable Crabtree (Jonny Harris), gruff Inspector Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), and coroner Dr. Emily Grace (Georgina Reilly), Murdoch faces off against murderers, thieves, and even the undead. Meanwhile, his always-complex relationship with Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy) continues to develop in unexpected ways.
